On 9 November 2017, our Executive Director, Associate Professor Dr Syed Ahmad Iskandar Syed Ariffin presented the results of the Malaysia Syariah Index (ISM) research in Environmental and Infrastructure Development in the Maqasid Syariah Executive Dialogue Session at the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Putrajaya.

The seven International Visiting Scholars selected to investigate Malaysia’s sustainable city development in 2017-2018 have arrived in Malaysia to begin their research. They will spend 5 months in Malaysia and 4 months in MIT. The MSCP is housed in CoLab at MIT and the Institut Sultan Iskandar (ISI) at UTM. 

Congratulations to the Institut Sultan Iskandar (ISI) for producing the first policy paper, Open Data Policy for Melaka State Government, an outcome of the Newton-Ungku Omar international grant, ISI & Future Cities Catapult (FCC) in 2016.
