ISI would like to welcome The University of Kansas from Lawrence USA to Malaysia for their Malaysia Architectural Study Tour. Malaysia has been their key destination and this is the University’s sixth visit to Malaysia for its Architecture in Asia, Study Abroad and Global Engagement program since 2013.

The tour will feature the architects themselves sharing thoughts on their own works. Viewed from the perspective of architectural regionalism, the tour will reveal how Malaysia inherits a wide spectrum of regionalism ideologies within arrays of global influences, thus a laboratory for world regionalism.

 

Malaysian Architectural Study Tour 2023 offers an architectural experience from the era in which modern architecture was taking its roots (1955-1970), passing through the postmodern era (1971-1990), and in the lead-up to the global era that spans from (1991-2017). The 10-day, 9-night program covers several states - Johor, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Putrajaya, Selangor and Perak. Excursions include visits to architecture that are award-winning and iconic, to the traditional and low costs.
