Selayang, 22 July 2025 – Institut Sultan Iskandar proudly formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysian Examinations Council / Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM) on 22 July 2025. This strategic partnership marking a significant step towards enhancing international access to Malaysian language proficiency examinations.
The MoU outlines a strategic collaboration for the establishment and joint management of official Malaysian University English Test (MUET) examination centres and recognised Malay Language Examination Centres, including initiatives in the People’s Republic of China and other international locations. The MoU reflects a shared commitment to enhance access and facilitate the smooth administration of these high-stakes assessments for candidates affiliated with ISI’s and UTM academic training and certification programmes.
Under this partnership, MUET examination centres in China will be operated according to MPM’s standards and regulatory framework, with ISI providing coordination and logistical support to ensure candidate accessibility, operational efficiency, and quality assurance. Furthermore, the planned Malay Language Examination Centres aim to promote Bahasa Melayu as a relevant academic and professional language, reinforcing Malaysia’s soft power and cultural diplomacy.
This collaboration supports ISI’s commitment to global academic outreach and MPM’s mission to expand the recognition of national examinations. The signing ceremony was witnessed by senior representatives from both institutions, signaling a shared vision to elevate Malaysia’s educational assessment offerings on the global stage.
